“If you deliberately plan on being less than you are capable of being, then I warn you that you’ll be unhappy for the rest of your life.”— Abraham Maslow
Are you where you want to be right now with your guitar playing or music career? Do you ever feel frustrated or hopeless that you don’t have what it takes?
I know how frustrating it is to sense that you could be progressing more but just don’t know how. It took me 12 years of trial and error and groping around in the dark before I learned the principles that enabled me to make more progress in 2 years than I had in ten.
You Can Do It
No matter where you are on your path, you have the power within you to accomplish more than you think is possible. But to do so, you must accept that the biggest bottleneck to your success is, in fact, your current beliefs, values, and habits.
It is true that lack of opportunity, education, and autonomy can be obstacles but if you want to reach your GREATEST potential, you have to start actively growing yourself.
This means being committed to self-mastery. We now know that music mastery is essentially self-mastery. There cannot be one without the other.
What is Self-Mastery?
“No person is free who is not master of himself.”
– EPICTETUS
Self-mastery is taking ownership of your results in life and using any, and every means available to “maximize yourself for a purpose greater than yourself”. It requires the faith and commitment to developing the inner strength, fortitude, and internal resources necessary to get to that world-class level you desire AND ultimately live the life you want.
We now know that our results in life ultimately flow from us. We are the cause and our results are the effects. It is imperative that we focus our everyday energies on maximizing ourselves.
My Mission is To Help You to Maximize Yourself
I’ve been playing guitar and teaching for 20 years both regionally and internationally. I equip musicians with the knowledge, skills, and resources to excel.
I am grateful to my teacher and mentor Greg Howe. His music, life, and teaching have significantly influenced my own approach to music and how I live my life.
His mentorship was instrumental in not only developing my skills on the guitar but shaping my personal beliefs. I want to spread the teachings and knowledge that I gained as part of my personal evolution and for the benefit of the greater good.
I studied with Greg Howe for over six years and as a result, developed a unique streamlined method of fretboard mastery that is helping many of my students. I identified, condensed, streamlined, and systematized what actually works in the real world. It is easy to memorize, visualize, and apply.
The method builds off of the fundamental 3NPS and/or CAGED shapes and integrates with both systems. It is the next step in the evolution of fretboard mastery.
Do you invest?
Studying with Greg Howe was a huge investment of time, money, and energy but it was well worth it. In this day and age, the smartest investment you can make is to invest in yourself. The one person you can count on is you. Are you investing in yourself consistently? Or are you living a life of mediocrity?
Are You Performing at Your Best? Are You Living Your Best?
To succeed at mastering any skill, you must be extremely driven. The fastest way to learn is to get coaching. Through coaching, you will learn and apply time-tested principles. With an intense drive to practice and apply these principles, mastery is within your ability.
I know we have not met but I’m guessing you are living below your potential. If my words resonate with any part of you then I think you know that too. If you want to live up to your potential, become an outstanding musician, AND create a life filled with adventure and fulfillment then you need to understand that everything you want is on the other side of a jungle.
“WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE…”
-Guns N’ Roses
We all want something that to us represents the life we think we want. But to get it, you have to cross through a jungle filled with danger. Filled with things that will literally kill you; eat you alive. If you make it through, you get what you want. But most of us are afraid, so we stay where it is safe. We talk about the jungle. We look at it. We learn about it. But very few actually go into it. Of those that do, most turn and run after the first defeat. The pain of failure is too much to bear.
So the question is do you stay on one side and have a safe life? Or, are you ready to go into the jungle?
If you do, I promise you WILL become a bigger, stronger, better version of yourself and you will be rewarded in ways you cannot yet see. Not only can you learn to withstand the challenges ahead, you can learn the skills necessary to defeat everything that stands in your way.
You likely started out with high aspirations but let disappointment destroy them. Disappointment is inevitable when you are attempting to do anything of great scale. Instead of letting the disappointment and setbacks slowly erode your dreams, let the disappointment drive you to find new answers and solutions. All the things that hold people back, fear, disappointment, stress, the daily grind, loss, depression, anxiety, and even heartbreak can be turned into the drive. You can become confident, skilled, driven, and successful. I will show you how.
I’m ready to get trained and kick-ass on stage and life
If you are new here and unfamiliar with what I do then below is an opportunity to sign up for a 5 part course where I teach key concepts that have enabled me to go from average to savage. I outline secrets that have helped me to tear down the barriers that I faced on the guitar and life and go from a dead end job, fat, and depressed to performing for medium to large size crowds in Japan, physically fit, conversationally fluent in Japanese and an active surfer who lives minutes from the beach.
